What to Keep in Mind when Choosing 3 Cup Rice Cookers

In my opinion, a rice cooker is a must in your kitchen. However, many people don't own a rice cooker. Others can't imagine themselves buying one. But many people who own rice cookers say they won't use the pot-on-the-stove style of cooking.

I'm so into rice and I'll die if I don't own the best rice cooker. Before, I wasn't into rice. Everything changed when my partner encouraged me to eat rice. Now, I'm into rice. My partner and I cook rice almost everyday.

We're happy with our 3 cup cooker. If you're single or a couple or a small family, here are some of the things to consider when buying the ideal 3 cup rice cookers.

How much rice you're planning to cook

Get a 3 cup rice cooker if you cook small amount of rice. This is size isn't for you if you cook more than 3 cups of rice because it can't handle such amount. Using a 3 cupper when you're having 4 cups could mean disaster. You don't want to have a chaotic counter.

When using a 3 cup rice cooker, avoid cooking less than 2 cups of rice. It can lead to overcooking and drying. eYou don't want that, do you? So limit the amount to only 2-3 cups.

We're to buy a 5 cup rice cooker. But a dear friend said it's not suitable for a couple who eat much rice. It's too big. Instead, she suggested us to get a 3 cup rice cooker. So we did. Our 3 cup rice cooker hasn't disappointed us yet.

Cost of rice cookers

Cost is the most important factor in choosing a 3 cup cooker. There's a big difference in price tag between the basic, low-end rice cookers and the high-end advanced ones. In fact the less expensive rice cookers cost around $15-$30. On the other hand, top-class rice cookers cost around $150-$200 or more.

Buying inexpensive 3 cup rice cookers is a good move if you're only cooking regular rice. You'll need top class cookers if you often cook different types of rice.

Check for some practical features

Consider practical features when getting a cooker. The cooker should have a nonstick bowl as well as a removable inner lid for easy cleaning. Consider a 3 cup rice cooker that allows you to cook various types of rice. Spending a little more on your 3 cup rice cooker will get you many extra options.
