Tuscany Tours - Things to See in Tuscany Italy

If you are thinking about going on a vacation to Italy, there are so many incredible places to see. But the place I am going to tell you about are a part of the Tuscany tours of Italy. Why Tuscany? For one thing, it is here you will see the most beautiful architecture. In Tuscany there are the most picturesque and the most exquisite architecture in the world.

There are at least six UNESCO protected places in Tuscany. What does that mean? That these places are protected by the international World Heritage Program. They protect these sites as outstanding culture for everyone. There are only 851 sites throughout the world and 6 of them are right there to see on your Tuscany tours vacation.

Some of the sites that are protected are the centers in Florence, Siena, Penza and San Gimignano. Also are the Val d'Orcia and the square of the Cathedral of Pisa, which is also known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The Duomo Cathedral represents Italian Romanesque culture at its finest, and can be found in Siena. Another impressive example of architecture can be viewed in Florence: Santa Maria del Flore. This is a must-see. There is an amazing old bridge in Florence called the Ponche Vencho Bridge. Held up by stilts, the old bridge also has shops built along the edge.

And then we come to San Gimignano, the little town atop a hill. The walled town is famous for its medieval architecture. Even from miles away, you can see its 14 towers.

These magnificent towers have stories to tell indeed. They have withstood wars and major disasters. Yet here they still stand, beautiful works of art, which you can see for yourself on your Tuscany tours. The Val d'Orcia is protected due to its beautiful landscape of rolling hills and quaint villages. This is a must while on your tour.

When you see these cities, you will understand why they are protected for their magnificent architecture. You can take in all the beauty and history of these sites when you go on one of your Tuscany tours.
