Green Smoothies – Do They Really Taste Good?

Even if you’re an avid smoothie fan you might not have heard of green smoothies. You’re definitely in for a treat if you decide to make one of these vitamin rich concoctions. You might even have the whole family finally eating those leafy green veggies.

The first thing you may be wondering is what in the world a green smoothie is. There is no exact answer as there many different recipes to choose from. At the very basics green smoothies are any fruit smoothie that also includes green leafy vegetables.

We all know that eating greens is good for us. At the same time, a lot of people don’t take the time to include more green vegetables in their diets. There are a lot of reasons for this, but one of the biggest reasons is time constraints.

When you make a green smoothie the process of eating these is as simple as drinking something down! Who doesn’t have the time to drink a drink? You’ll be getting great nutrients and an excellent flavor to boot.

One of the best times to drink a green smoothie is at breakfast. You’ll have more energy early in the morning thanks to those vitamins and minerals.

You’ll be amazed at the lack of fatigue and the feeling of focus you’ll get. As an added bonus they help to regulate your digestive system as there is so much fiber.

If you want to get going with green smoothies, but don’t know exactly what to put in them, I have included some common ingredients that may help.

Here are some greens you could use: Chard, Cale, Spinach and Lettuce

You’re probably all ready to give this a try if you already love these ingredients. But if they’re making you wrinkle your nose in disgust, read on! If you love fruit, it gets a lot better.

You’ll want to mix some fruits up with these leafy ingredients. First of all, they help disguise the leafy flavor if you don’t already enjoy it. Secondly, they add another burst of nutrition to the smoothie. Fortunately, there are tons of different fruits you can try.

Some of the more common favorites include: Mangoes, Strawberries, Bananas and Blueberries

You can come up with all sorts of combinations that you and your entire family will enjoy. You may even want to get your kids involved in eating healthier.

Smoothies are known to be delicious and smooth as it is, so you shouldn’t have a hard time convincing everyone. Just remember that smoothies are only as good as the recipes, so it’s a good idea to study and compare different recipes as a starting place for coming up with your own recipes.
